Gen Red was developed in a quest to make a deeper, bolder red wine, something other than Pinot Noir, that could be enjoyed immediately upon release and pair well with a wood-fired cuisine. This red blend offers rich, luscious flavors and a supple palate. Even, smooth tannins that don’t overpower the acidity make it an easy, approachable wine and a crowd pleaser. The 2022 earned a score of 91 points and "Best Buy" designation in Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
The 2022 is comprised of 57% Valdiguié, 24% Merlot, 11% Syrah and 8% Petite Verdot. The different varietals are produced separately. We employ long cool fermentations with frequent punch downs and a year’s worth of barrel age, mostly in older French oak.
