Sta. Rita Hills is one of the most coveted wine regions for Pinot Noir
in the world. This wine celebrates the appellation.
The fruit for the 2021 was sourced
from the legendary Sanford & Benedict Vineyard (76%), Chapel Vineyards (15%) and Fiddlestix (9%). We used our usual hands-on,
traditional vinification technique, with each lot handled separately. The wines were aged for 20 months in French oak barrels before
being racked, blended and bottled.
An inviting wine that pulls you in
with its tart cherry, plum and strawberry notes, the St. Rita's Earth Pinot displays
forward fruit that expresses all the true character of Sta. Rita Hills. The
palate shows effusive berry fruit, bold cola and smoky notes with a
medium-bodied mouthfeel. With its well-rounded acidity allowing the fruit
flavor to be enjoyed early on, the wine is well matched with grilled meats, lamb
roasts or mushroom risotto.

"Deep, layered, and super-expressive, the 2021 has a lot to offer...a Pinot of substance and resonance. A whole range of floral and spice overtones play off a core of red/purplish berry fruit." - Antonio Galloni
