Every vintage we blend grape varieties to create the Gen Red as an easy to appreciate red. In selected years, if we find some of these grape lots to be more compelling, we also bottle a special blend called Four Top. This bottling is led by 47% Merlot from the McGinley Vineyard in Happy Canyon of santa Barbara. Included is 46% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Estelle Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley.
"Four Top" is a reference and honoring of the Hitching Post II restaurant, and that we call a table of four for dinner a "four top."
